Life Size Maps — The Sleepy Northeast
Brooklyn’s Life Size Maps weed beauty out of ugliness, playing what they describe as “avant garage” with an arsenal of detuned, dented, and blown-out instruments. While this all sounds very discordant, “The Sleepy Northeast”, the closing track on their new Magnifier EP, is by all accounts a strikingly pretty affair; strings pluck, vocals hover over xylophone murmurs, and it isn’t until the 3-minute mark that we’re treated to a swell of wailing, ecstatically fuzzy guitar. LSM are offering up Magnifier for free on bandcamp— go git it.

life size maps: another band highlighting the disconnect between bandcamp and spotify. what’s the solution? can there even BE a solution, licensing-wise?
either way, this is real good (though as noted, not very noisy for LSM) and you should grab their stuff from band camp.
srsly though, you should listen to this all the way through.
Oooh this song is good! And that cover is excellent.
I like this a lot!
